LAN, Wireless & Networking
Gah! No internet? We'll fix your networking or dongle and get you back on Facebook, phew!
Networking problems are one of the biggest causes of computer aggravation. You may have access to some websites but not others, you could have a connection but no internet at all, or it may be fast and then slow and... anything!
Networking of any type (LAN, Ethernet, Wireless, WiFi) can be affected either at the same time or you may have issues with just one.
Hardware
Hardware faults are an obvious cause of networking issues - you could need a new network card or port repair. Our prices range from £29 to £69 plus parts.
Drivers
The cheapest repair is to the networking stack and drivers. We charge £29 for this as a 'small job'. Drivers are the software that sits between Windows and the hardware itself. They are often damaged due to bad patches/upgrades, corrupted files or being accidentally removed. Sometimes drivers are damaged because of another issue such as viruses or hard drive/file system corruption. If there is another issue then the price would be £49.
Viruses
The single biggest issue causing network problems would be viruses. Most viruses now hook directly into the networking stack or create their own drivers to access the internet directly and will often get in the way of you using the internet. Please see our Virus Removal service for full details, but prices range from £49 to £69.
